Lazard study finds onshore wind among lowest LCOE sources of generation

Lazard released its Levelized Cost of Energy Analysis Version 9.  Unsubsidized onshore wind ranges from a levelized cost of energy of $32-$77 which represents the lowest LCOE form of  generation in the US.  Although offshore wind was not studied, these low onshore LCOE numbers will make it difficult for offshore wind to compete.  Since 2009 onshore wind’s LCOE has fallen 61%.
